A buggy maker, a quilter and a furniture builder are among Amish craftspeople who will open their homes and businesses to visitors in southern Ontario’s Perth County.

The fall Amish tours, introduced in 2008 and being repeated this year, take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays during October.

Businesses on the tours include the Ebersol Chair Shop, located in the former Milverton CPR station built in 1906, and the Ebersol Buggy Shop, which makes carriages for the local Amish community.

As well, visitors can tour a farm with 150 milking goats. The milking parlour operates without power. The farm will also offer horse and buggy rides to visitors.

Tour maps area available at www.visitperth.ca/amish-tours.html.

Perth County is west of Kitchener, Ont.
